The Third International Scientific and Practical Conference "DIGITAL ECONOMY" was held on June 5–6, 2025. It was organized by the Educational and Scientific Institute "Institute of Information Technologies in Economics" at Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University. The conference focused on current trends in digital transformations, artificial intelligence, machine and deep learning, data modeling, digital educational ecosystems, and cybersecurity in economics and public administration.
The event brought together leading domestic and international scientists, experts, innovators, and everyone who is shaping the digital future of our country.
The Department of Mathematical Modeling and Statistics actively participated in the preparation and organization of this event.
The plenary session was held on June 5 in an online format on the ZOOM platform. It began with an official opening and welcoming speeches from representatives of the university administration and scientific institutions. Welcoming addresses to the participants were given by Larisa ANTONIUK, Vice-Rector for Research at KNEU; Serhiy VASHCHAYEV, Director of the Institute of Information Technologies at KNEU; and Michael POKOYOVYI, a representative of Old Dominion University in the USA.
The program of the plenary session featured 10 presentations covering key topics such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, and the implementation of digital solutions in business and public administration. The speakers included recognized scientists, practitioners, and representatives of the international academic community. Specifically:
Anatoliy KOLOT, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Vadym Hetman KNEU, delivered a report on "Higher Education and the Labor Market in the Coordinates of the New (Digital) Economy."
Ginta MAYORE, a professor and practical expert from Latvia, shared a practical study on "Developing a Digital Twin to Ensure Sustainable Use of Water Resources in Urban and Rural Green Zones."
Andriy MATVIYCHUK, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Professor of the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Statistics at Vadym Hetman KNEU, and Director of the KNEU Science Park, presented a report on "Modeling the Digital Competitiveness of Countries."
On June 6, the sectional meetings of the conference took place. The meetings were held in several thematic sections, with the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Statistics moderating the following sections: "Digital Transformations in Economics and Public Administration," "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Economics," "Deep Learning Models in Image Recognition and Language Processing Tasks," and "Modeling and Data Analysis in Economics."
The sectional work was attended by scientists, lecturers, postgraduate students, and students from various regions of Ukraine. The presentations were accompanied by lively discussions and generated significant interest among the audience.
The event demonstrated the high level of preparation of the participants and the relevance of the topics discussed. The conference served as a platform for a fruitful scientific dialogue, new contacts, and further cooperation among researchers from different regions of Ukraine and abroad.
