16-17.01.2025 training course was held «Dealing with propaganda, misinformation and fake news using AI&ML»
16-17 January, the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Statistics and the KNEU Science Park jointly conducted a training course on the topic «Dealing with Propaganda, Misinformation and Fake News Using AI&ML», which brought together experts from Ukraine, Sweden, Estonia, and Armenia interested in combating disinformation and propaganda. The course aimed to provide participants with practical skills and a theoretical basis for detecting, analyzing, and countering fake information using modern artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) tools.
The event was held as part of a grant project 00152/2024 «iResilience: Strengthening democratic practises and media literacy», which is funded by the SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme
The training consisted of lectures, practical workshops, and group discussions. Participants had the opportunity to work with real data, build models to recognize fakes, and develop their own solutions to combat disinformation..
