A Step into the World of Digital Technologies: an overview lecture for students of the “International Economics” program07 May 2026р.On 7 May 2026, an overview lecture was held for second-year students of the Faculty of International Economics and Management, majoring in “International Economics”, within the framework of the course “Digital Economy” (groups ME-205i, ME-206i). The lecture was dedicated to modern digital technologies and the innovative capabilities of the teaching and research laboratories “Information Control Systems and Technologies” of the Department of Computer Science.
The meeting with students was organized by the lecturer of the discipline “Digital Economy” – Deputy Head of the Department for Academic and Methodological Work, Associate Professor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Modelling and Statistics, Tetiana Leonidivna Kmytiuk.
The lecture was delivered by PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Computer Science, Yaroslav Yuriiovych Vozniuk. During the event, students were introduced to the activities of the teaching and research laboratory “Information Control Systems and Technologies”, modern equipment, innovative research directions, and practical examples of the implementation of student projects.
Particular attention was paid to the use of digital technologies in the field of international economics, business process automation, development of digital entrepreneurship, data analysis, and the implementation of intelligent management systems. Students were presented with modern technologies and solutions, including: 3D printing technologies and digital modelling; VR/AR solutions for virtual interaction; microelectronics tools and IoT technologies; artificial intelligence tools and data analysis; digital platforms for business process automation and e-commerce.
Within the lecture, students were also demonstrated the best practices of implementing student projects using microcontroller systems and Internet of Things technologies. In particular, students were introduced to the following developments: robotic systems; voice assistant; wheeled robot; IoT monitoring system; smart mirror; access control system, and other innovative solutions. Of particular interest to students was the presentation of VR headsets, where they had the opportunity to try controlling virtual aircraft and explore the capabilities of virtual reality technologies in the field of digital technologies and modern interactive systems.
Conducting such events contributes to the formation of digital competencies, the development of practical skills in working with modern technologies, and the training of competitive specialists for the conditions of the digital economy and international business. |
