The Department of Computer Science Prepared the Classrooms for the New Academic Year30 August 2026р.During the summer period, the teachers of the Department of Computer Science actively worked on preparing the department’s laboratories, classrooms, and lecture rooms for the new academic year. One of the important areas of work was the updating of the informational and visual design of the educational premises. In particular, more than 50 thematic information boards dedicated to the main areas of teaching and development of computer science were prepared and placed.
Among the presented topics are the history of the creators of IT technologies, the history of the development of artificial intelligence, the history of the development of computers, and the history of programming languages. In Classroom 81, information about the main creators of IT technologies has been placed — prominent scientists, programmers, engineers, and entrepreneurs whose ideas and developments have significantly influenced the formation and development of modern computer science.
By visiting the classroom, students will be able to learn about the life paths, scientific achievements, and contributions to the development of IT of such prominent personalities as:
This list is not exhaustive. The boards present many other prominent figures who formed the foundation of modern information technologies.
This classroom is intended to host career-guidance events for schoolchildren, applicants, and everyone interested in entering the educational and professional program “Computer Science.” During such meetings, prospective applicants will have the opportunity to learn about the features of studying under the “Computer Science” EPP, the main areas of training, modern IT technologies, and prospects for professional development. A special feature of the classroom is the information boards dedicated to prominent creators of IT technologies and the history of the development of computer science. They will help participants of career-guidance events not only receive information about the educational program, but also see how the field of computer science was formed and which discoveries determined its modern development. Classroom 81 will become one of the spaces where future students will be able to get acquainted with the department, teachers, areas of training, and the opportunities provided by studying under the “Computer Science” EPP. In Classroom 86, the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, information materials dedicated to the history of the formation and development of artificial intelligence (AI), the evolution of technologies, and prominent scientists whose research laid the foundation for modern artificial intelligence have been placed. The information boards present the main stages of AI development — from the first theoretical studies and attempts to create machines capable of performing intelligent tasks to modern systems of machine and deep learning, neural networks, and generative artificial intelligence. Particular attention is paid to the contributions of such prominent scientists and researchers:
In Classroom 88, information materials dedicated to the history of the development of domestic and foreign computers, the formation of computing technology, and the contribution of Ukrainian scientists to the development of modern computer technologies have been placed. On the information boards, students can trace the main stages of the evolution of computers — from the first mechanical calculating devices and electronic computing machines to modern personal computers, mobile devices, and high-performance computing systems. Special attention is paid to the history of the development of domestic computing technology and the scientific achievements of Ukrainian scientists. In particular, materials about the work of Sergey Lebedev, who led the development of the MESM — one of the first electronic computing machines in continental Europe — as well as about Viktor Glushkov – a prominent Ukrainian scientist, cyberneticist, and one of the founders of information technologies and cybernetics, are presented. The exhibition also presents information about the development of foreign computer technology and significant developments that shaped the modern industry. Students can learn about the first electronic computers, the development of transistor and integrated circuit technology, the emergence of microprocessors, and the formation of personal computers. A special place is occupied by the history of the Ukrainian contribution to the global development of computer science and computing technology. Ukrainian scientists made a significant contribution to the development of electronic computing machines, cybernetics, programming The new information materials are intended not only to complement the educational environment, but also to interest students in the history of the formation of technologies that today determine the development of the modern digital world. Special attention is paid to the branding of the department’s classrooms. New illuminated logos have been installed in the lecture room assigned to the Department of Computer Science, as well as in the corridor near the teachers’ room.
The basis of the logo consists of three key faces of a Rubik’s Cube, which is a symbol of the department. This image reflects the multifaceted nature of computer science and the ability to find comprehensive solutions to complex tasks. It symbolizes the combination of software and computer components, data analytics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other modern areas of IT. The updated classrooms and information materials create a modern, meaningful, and motivating educational environment for students. The Department of Computer Science continues to work to ensure that the educational space meets modern requirements and inspires students to study the latest technologies and develop their professional competencies. The new classrooms are not only spaces for classes, but also an environment in which the history of technologies, modern knowledge, and future innovations are combined into a single whole. The management of the Department of Computer Science expresses sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the preparation and renovation of the department’s classrooms and laboratories. Special gratitude is expressed to the management of the printing enterprise, which provided significant assistance in the production and updating of the information boards. The department separately thanks sponsors, friends, partners, and everyone who cared and supported this initiative, contributed to the organization of the work, the production of information materials, the design of classrooms, and the creation of a modern educational environment. The implementation of such a project became possible thanks to the joint work of the department’s teachers, partners, and everyone who supports the development of education and the younger generation of IT specialists. We sincerely appreciate your support, trust, and assistance. We are convinced that the renovated classrooms, modern information boards, and new design will contribute to the creation of a comfortable, motivating, and meaningful educational space for our students and future applicants. |
