On September 18, 2026, lecturers from Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman visited the International Children’s Center “Artek”, where they conducted career guidance activities for the camp’s participants. The educational day became an opportunity not only to introduce teenagers to modern IT professions and educational opportunities at KNEU, but also to help them better understand their own interests, try themselves in the role of future IT specialists, and determine their educational trajectory.

The event was organized by the Departments of Computer Science and System Analysis and Cybersecurity of the Educational and Scientific Institute “Institute of Information Technologies in Economics” of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.

The Department of Computer Science of KNEU was represented by Yurii Mykolaiovych Lozovyk, Deputy Head of the Department for Scientific Work; Yaroslav Yuriiovych Vozniuk, Deputy Head of the Department for Educational and Methodological Work; and Oksana Mykolaivna Pomazun, guarantor of the bachelor’s-level educational program “Computer Science”.

The program of the educational day was rich and included practical familiarization of the participants with modern technologies.

Yaroslav Yuriiovych Vozniuk demonstrated to the participants the main stages of 3D scanning and 3D printing. The camp participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern technologies of 3D modeling, 3D scanning, and 3D printing, to see the process of creating a digital model of an object, preparing it for printing, and transforming a digital model into a real physical object. This format allowed the participants not only to gain theoretical knowledge, but also to see the practical application of technologies that are currently used in engineering, design, manufacturing, education, and IT.

Another interactive part of the event was an introduction to virtual and augmented reality technologies. The camp participants tried VR headsets, interacted with digital objects, and learned how VR and AR technologies are created and where they are applied. The practical demonstration allowed the participants to directly experience the possibilities of modern technologies and see the prospects for their use in education, entertainment, business, medicine, design, and other fields.

Oksana Mykolaivna Pomazun demonstrated to the participants the possibilities of developing recommendation models and invited them to try themselves in the role of recommendation system developers. During the practical activity, the participants created a user profile, determined content criteria and ratings, built personalized recommendations, and checked how changes in user behavior affect the result of the algorithm’s operation. This format made it possible to demonstrate, using a simple and understandable example, the principles of algorithms that are used every day in digital services, social networks, online stores, and streaming platforms.

The Department of System Analysis and Cybersecurity was represented by Mykhailo Mykhailovych Ahutin. The participants learned about current issues of cybersecurity and information protection, the main threats in the digital space, ways to protect personal data, the principles of operation of security systems, and prospects for professional development in the field of cybersecurity. Particular attention was paid to the practical component. During an interactive quiz, the participants learned to recognize typical cyber threats and phishing messages, as well as identify safe ways to protect accounts and personal data.

A separate part of the meeting was the discussion “Is It Possible to Completely Protect Data on the Internet?”. The participants expressed their own opinions, considered different views on the problem, and analyzed real examples of information protection.

The educational day at the MDI “Artek” demonstrated that familiarization with IT professions can be not only informative, but also interesting, practical, and interactive. Thanks to the opportunity to try modern technologies themselves, the participants were able to better understand how digital solutions work and what professional opportunities the field of information technologies opens up.
