Job Fair "Career Labyrinth": a Path to Professional Growth for IT Specialization Students03 April 2025р.

On April 2, 2025, the annual Job Fair "Career Labyrinth" took place in the main building of Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University — a large-scale event that brings together students, faculty members, and leading companies. For several hours, participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of career opportunities, communicate with industry professionals, learn about open vacancies, receive career consultations, and establish new professional connections. The event was organized with the support of the Career Development Center "Perspektyva".

More than 30 leading companies participated in the fair, including organizations operating in the field of IT and digital technologies:

  • SoftServe — the largest global IT company with Ukrainian roots, which has been creating innovative software solutions and consulting clients in the field of digital transformation for over 30 years. Its representatives actively discussed with students the prospects of internships, training, and development within the company.
  • RetroStyle Games — a well-known Ukrainian GameDev company working with giants such as Disney, Zynga, Ubisoft, and SEGA. The company presented its experience in mobile game development and spoke about career opportunities for young specialists, including designers, animators, and programmers.
  • Caseware Ukraine — a leading FinTech company specializing in the automation of financial audit and reporting. During communication with company representatives, opportunities for student internships and practical training were discussed, along with topics such as cloud solutions, analytics, auditing, and teaching courses in modern financial technologies.
  • DS SOLUTIONS — a young law firm actively developing in the field of IT and tax law. Their team is looking not only for lawyers but also for specialists who can support IT processes, particularly in the area of privacy and data protection.
  • MODUS X — a Ukrainian IT company implementing large-scale digital transformation projects, particularly in the energy sector.
  • The group of companies "Datagroup, Volia, lifecell" presented itself as a national leader in telecommunications technologies, offering a wide range of internet services, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity services. Event participants were able to obtain information about job openings, internships, and the technical capabilities of the company.

The event was attended by representatives of the leadership of the Institute of Information Technologies in the Economy and the Department of Information Systems in the Economy: Serhii Serhiiovych Vashchaiev — Director of the Institute of Information Technologies in the Economy, Associate Professor, PhD in Economics; Bohdan Oleksandrovych Tishkov — Head of the Department of Information Systems in the Economy, Associate Professor, PhD in Economics; Liudmyla Volodymyrivna Vasylieva — guarantor of the educational program "Artificial Intelligence Systems", Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems in the Economy, PhD in Technical Sciences; Yurii Mykolaiovych Lozovyk — Deputy Head of the Department of Information Systems in the Economy for Research Work, Associate Professor, PhD in Economics.

   

  

Representatives of the Department of Information Systems in the Economy established partnerships with participating companies, including SoftServe, MODUS X, Caseware Ukraine, and others. During the negotiations, the following were discussed: involvement of company representatives in teaching special courses and conducting master classes; organization of excursions to company offices; the possibility of joint updates of educational programs; creation of laboratories or research clusters based at the university; holding hackathons, case championships, and various educational events for students.

With company representatives, prospects for student internships in the master’s educational programs "Information Control Systems and Technologies" and "Artificial Intelligence Systems" were discussed, with a special focus on software application development, IT infrastructure support, and ensuring information security. The results of the event demonstrated that the "Career Labyrinth" is not only an event related to familiarization with the labor market, but also a powerful platform for building systematic cooperation between education and business. Thanks to the active participation of the faculty of the Department of Information Systems and the leadership of the Institute of Information Technologies in the Economy, KNEU is confidently moving towards the creation of a modern innovative educational environment that meets the challenges of the digital economy.
