The International Competition “2024 Ukraine and Ireland Innovation Challenge Careers in the Digital Age with Impact to the Society” became a bright event in the academic life of three leading universities:Maynooth University (Ireland), Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas in 2024.

The event was initiated and led by Professor Markus Helfert, Professor for Digital Service Innovation at Maynooth University and the Director of the Innovation Value Institute, the Hub for Data and Digital Research at Maynooth University. Thanks to his enthusiasm and experience, the competition has become a platform for exchanging ideas and achievements between students and teachers from different countries for the second time.

The student teams presented their innovative projects that demonstrated the potential of digital technologies to solve pressing social problems. Students from the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman were especially recognized, winning two awards at once:

• Best Project Awardwent to the team of masters majoring in Artificial Intelligence Systems consisting of Petro Bortkevych, Diana Onishchenko, and Oleksandr Radovetskyi;
• Award for Significant Contributionwent to a team of bachelor's and master's students majoring in Computer Science: Ksenia Belikova, Anton Voloshin, and Tikhon Drohoman.

These achievements are the result of the hard work of the students and their supervisor, Professor of the Department of Information Systems in Economics at the Institute of Information Technologies in Economics of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, Doctor of Economics, Professor Olga Mozgalli, who was awarded the Mentor of Best Project Award.

The victory of the teams of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman at the international competition “2024 Ukraine and Ireland Innovation Challenge Careers in the Digital Age with Impact to the Society” is a significant achievement and testifies to the high level of training of IT specialists in Ukraine.
