FoundersYosyp Saulovych Paskhaver – Soviet economist, Doctor of Economics (since 1963), Professor (since 1965). In 1930, he graduated from the Statistical Faculty of the Kharkiv Institute of National Economy. From 1929, he worked at the Central Statistical Office of the Ukrainian SSR, simultaneously teaching at the Department of Statistics of the Kharkiv Institute of National Economy. From 1937, he was Deputy, and from 1939 to 1953, he was the Head of the Statistics Department of the Central Statistical Office of the Ukrainian SSR. From 1947 to 1980, he was the Head of the Department of Statistics of the Kyiv Institute of National Economy. Under his leadership, the department became a leader in the methodology of statistics and statistical-economic analysis, and its influence on the formation of the Ukrainian economic elite, scientific thought and the scientific level of methodological work of state statistics bodies increased. Petro Ivanovych Pustokhod – graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Kyiv Institute of National Economy in 1922 with a 2nd degree diploma, and in 1923 he defended a 1st degree diploma. From March 1919 to 1938, he was a senior researcher at the Institute of Demography of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. During his work at the Academy, Petro Ivanovych wrote and published a number of scientific papers on demography and defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences. He worked at the Kyiv Financial and Economic Institute from October 1, 1955, first as an associate professor of the Department of Statistics and Mathematics, and from December 1964 as a professor of the Department of Statistics. Petro Ivanovych headed the Department of Statistics at the Kyiv Financial Institute and Kyiv University for a number of years. He published more than 35 scientific papers, mainly on population statistics, including a number of monographs on the population census in pre-revolutionary Russia and in the USSR. Valerii Petrovych Trofimov – graduated from the Kyiv Institute of National Economy in 1961. After years of study in the postgraduate course of KINE, he received the scientific degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences. From 1966, he worked at the Department of General Theory of Statistics of KINE as a lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor, and in 1980 he became the head of the Department of General Theory of Statistics. V.P. Trofimov studied the most important and fundamental problems of the theory of statistics, in particular, he studied the theoretical and logical foundations of the use of methods of multifactorial correlation-regression and variance analysis in economic and statistical studies, the use of electronic computers in processing statistical information. The statistician developed a method for measuring the relationship on the basis of basic spatial-temporal series and dynamic-analytical groupings, proposed cumulative criteria for checking the significance and linearity of the relationship and methods of their application in single- and multi-factor models for ungrouped data and analytical groupings. Followers Doctor of Economics, Professor A.V. Holovach. Based on fundamental research in the field of statistics theory and practical experience, A.V. Holovach founded the School of Applied Statistics of Economic Direction, the main goal of which is to build statistical support for economic management. He formed the theoretical and methodological foundations of banking and applied statistics. Doctor of Economics, Professor A.M. Yerina is the author of over 180 scientific and educational-methodical publications, including fundamental textbooks on statistics. She prepared 30 candidates and doctors of sciences, making a significant contribution to the development of the scientific community in the field of statistics and economics. Doctor of Economics, Professor S.S. Herasymenko is a well-known Ukrainian economist, expert in the field of statistics and economic analysis, statistical methodology for studying micro- and macroeconomics, in particular, segments of the financial market. Doctor of Economics, Professor I.G. Mantsurov significantly improved and deepened the system of theoretical knowledge necessary for statistical information and analytical support of state regulation of the economy, institutional planning of its development and the development of effective management decisions. Doctor of Economics, Professor Z.P. Baranyk focused on the development of methodological, methodical and organizational issues of forming a market development strategy, approaches to their comprehensive statistical analysis and evaluation at both regional and national levels. Doctor of Economics, Professor M.V. Pugachova - the main direction of research: methodology of statistical monitoring systems, decision theory, business statistics, business cycle surveys. Doctor of Economics, Professor O.O. Vasechko - since 2006 and to the present, he has been a visiting and associate professor at the Sorbonne-Pantheon University (Paris, France) and a visiting professor at the UNLV University (Nevada, USA). For a long time, he has participated in international projects of the UN and the European Commission as a statistics expert in Asia, Africa and Europe. Doctor of Economics, Professor R.M. Motoryn - studies problems of economic statistics, international statistics, and national accounting. Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Z.O. Palyan - paid great attention to the study of demographic statistics, author of textbooks. Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor E.V. Chekotovsky - studied the history of statistical science, dealt with issues of agricultural statistics, the use of Excel for statistical research. Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor G.G. Trofimova - the main directions of research: statistical modeling and forecasting of socio-economic development indicators.
