J. Marcus Jobe is Emeritus Professor of Information Systems and Analytics in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University (Ohio).  He published technical articles in professional journals such as Journal of the American Statistical Association, Techno metrics, Journal of Quality Technology, The American Statistician, IEEE Transactions on Reliability and others.  His current research interests focus on measurement quality, multivariate process monitoring, pattern recognition and oil exploration applications. Professor Jobe co-authored with Professor Vardeman two statistics texts, Statistical Quality Assurance Methods for Engineers (John Wiley & Sons, pp. 1-560, 1999) and Basic Engineering Data Collection and Analysis (Thomson publishing, pp. 1-832, 2001).  The US Dept. of State twice awarded him the Senior Fulbright Scholar award (1996-1997 and 2005-2006).  Jobe taught and conducted research in Ukraine for extended periods of time, one year in Kiev, Ukraine and the other year in Lviv, Ukraine.  Topics on quality improvement and data mining were taught to Ukrainian students and faculty.  He won numerous teaching awards at Miami University, including the all-university Outstanding Teaching award and the Richard T. Farmer Teaching Excellence award for senior professors in the school of business.  His consulting activities included NASA, GE, Procter and Gamble and others.  Dr. Jobe earned his Ph.D.(1984) in Statistics from Iowa State University, M.S. (1979) in Statistics from Oklahoma State University and B.S. (1977) in Physics from the University of Central Oklahoma. Professor Jobe is currently in the retire/rehire transition to retirement after completing 29and a half years of service to Miami University.
